To check your Remote Desktop Session's display configuration, go to the "Show Options" pulldown arrow, and click on the down arrow. 

Then, go to the Display tab, and make sure the Display configuration size is set to Fullscreen, or the notch to the left of widescreen (your computer's default display resolution).
